Southern Junktion Camping Guide

Those of you familiar with our spring Lake Whitney event already know what to expect;  A family atmosphere where family is the larger community of sharing people who are gathered to exchange vibes and take another step toward our destination.  You are expected to consider every person there as your sister, brother, son or daughter respectively;  look out for your community and bring something positive to contribute (even if it's just a smile).

Several Camping Areas Available

Several camping areas will be provided so scout it out and plant your camps flag! A child friendly camp will be available for those of you with little ones.  Be considerate and remember this event is for every one to enjoy.  If you are bringing children you are expected to be responsible for your precious little ones.

  • Primitive Camping
    • Costs are covered by your admission ticket, no additional fees charged.
    • You may want to bring water bags (can be filled on site) for cleaning up and washing gear.
    • Bring trash bags to make sure you leave no trace behind.  One of the reasons we can do events like this is that our people don't leave a mess.  You have to respect your venue if you want to be invited back!
    • Be sure to check out the Camping Checklist.
  • RV Camping
    • Feel free to bring out your RV/Camper or to rent one.
    • Water and Electric hookups are provided at a cost of $15 a day (paid at entrance)
    • If you don't need water or electric hookups then you can park in any of other designated areas (will include primitive areas).
    • We've partnered up with a sponsor to bring you RV Rentals!

Successful Camping Requires Sharing

Be prepared to neighbor up and bring extra camping items.  You will most likely share cooking and campfires with others so be ready to contribute to your tribe!  If this is your first time to one of our events then you'll find that sharing is a great way to meet people and find your place among the family.

Be Advised

There is very limited to no cell phone reception at the festival grounds. Some reception is available in various “hot” spots on the canyon above the venue depending on your carrier. For most out of town travelers, there is no cell phone reception beyond the town of Muenster, 10 miles East of the festival. Muenster Texas is also the closest place to purchase beer and alcohol. The closest hotel rooms are in Gainesville, 30 miles from the event.

It Is Texas In Late September

Be ready for anything…rain, heat, sun, cool temperatures, sudden downpours. This list represents some of the many things you may need. Plan ahead and be prepared!
